This month’s ” HARD RIDE” Benefiting VeloYouth will roll out at 9 AM sharp from the Park and Ride just off I-8 in Descanso, and will go up to Julian where we will stop for Apple Pie and Coffee. The main route is a 53 mile ride featuring around 6000 feet of climbing and over 30 miles of dirt roads along the way and will feel like a much longer ride. There will also be a 68 mile route for the truly courageous. We will have a follow vehicle and support with spare tubes, water, PowerBar products, etc, but you should plan to be self sufficient at all times. You should bring appropriate clothing, spare tubes, a pump ( possibly a tire boot just in case) appropriate nutrition, and a few dollars. This ride is intended to be done on a road bike, but we suggest you don’t bring your fancy carbon wheels. The ride is going to be led by Crank Cycling coaches to benefit the San DiegoVelo Youth program. The suggested donation is $20 or more, but you are still welcome even if you cannot afford to make a donation. All rider must pre register and all riders must sign a liability release. Crank Cycling reserves the right to change the route or even the date depending on weather conditions!
Registration here. Remember, the ride is free but a Donation to VeloYouth is appreciated. If you can’t afford a donation, you are still welcome to join us.
